Founded by Talia Bromstad in 2020, Bromstad Printing Company is a Louie Award-winning risograph studio creating charming stationery goods for all occasions featuring flora, fauna, and felines.
Our eco-friendly, small batch greeting cards, notepads, and art prints boast vibrant ink colors, whimsical imagery, gentle humor, and inimitable risograph vibes to brighten the day. A collection of coordinating stickers rounds out the line.
Riso printed in-house and assembled by hand in Atlanta, Georgia, our stationery items are featured at over 600 independent retailers internationally. We partner with a fulfillment center in Lorton, Virginia where a team of experts carefully ships your order in as little as 1–3 days.
What is risograph printing?
Risograph printing is a boutique print process also known as "digital screen printing." It’s based on the same concept as traditional screen printing, where ink passes through tiny holes in a stencil that has been burned with an image.
A risograph machine uses rice paper stencils wrapped around large ink drums to create luminous, loosely registered prints with a delightfully retro feel.
We print with a palette of ten ink colors, each requiring its own dedicated ink drum. The limited color palette creates consistency across the line while offering plenty of variety.
Our two-drum model riso machine allows us to print two colors in one pass. It's important to highlight the imperfect nature of riso printing, where slight misregistration between colors and variances in ink density across swaths of ink are to be expected—nay—embraced.
